Till November 21: Artist’s Point of View on the Berlin Wall, a Photo Installation by B.O. Shailesh.
The Berlin Wall East Side Gallery is a 1.3 km-long section of the wall near the centre of Berlin. Approximately 100 paintings by artists from all over the world cover this memorial and make it the largest open-air gallery in the world.
This installation presents the unique graffiti and artworks captured through B.O. Shailesh’s camera lens (at Max Muller Bhavan).
November 16-December 26: Photo Stories from Thousand Lights, a photo exhibition. German photographer Barbara Bechtloff held a photo workshop at the Goethe-Institute last June with Chennai-based photographer Varun Gupta. The participants then documented the street life of the Thousand Lights area. More than 1500 photos were taken. The finest images, curated by Varun Gupta, are being exhibited (at Max Muller Bhavan).
November 19-21: The Madras Players, in association with Vasanthi Sankaranarayanan and Nirmala Seshadri, present Outcaste Eternal, a dance theatre production.
It has been scripted and directed by Vasanthi Sankaranarayanan and Nirmala Seshadri (at the Museum Theatre).
November 19-24: Heritage Week Festivities (at DakshinaChitra).
November 21: Jazz Concert by Thomas Siffling Trio. Thomas Siffling and his Trio present a totally new German Jazz sound which is young, full of energy and contemporary for a range of music listeners (at the Music Academy, 7.30 p.m.).
November 22 till end-December: Group Exhibition. A good exhibition of paintings (at Artworld).
December 2-6: Spirits of the cities, a photography exhibition. Pascal Monteil will exhibit his portaits of musicians, dancers and other cultural personalities from Chennai and elsewhere in India (at Park Hotel).
