Madras Craft Foundation, DakshinaChitra has organised a workshop on Tanjore paintings.

Tanjore paintings have a very rich heritage. This style of painting has been followed widely by the people in Southern Tamil Nadu for the past two centuries particularly in Tanjore. The art became popular during
the Maratha period and received extensive royal patronage, especially during the time when Sarabhoji II reigned (1797-1833). (At DakshinaChitra, 10 a.m. to
5 p.m.)
