Till May 8: Shringara (Painting/Sculptures), The Human Animal (Sculptures) and Freedom Calls (Photographs) exhibitions by George, K.

Freedom Calls is a series of photographs of the Madras Central Jail. The positive side of the jail is explored with dramatic lights of an architectural gem that the city has since lost to history. This dramatic, poignant collection will be coupled with readings and ballads of “Years in Prison”. The Human Animal features sculptures portraying the human animal posturing, with animal ancestry evident. This brings to the fore the animal in the human and the human in the animal, all primates. Shringara is the adoration of beauty. The facade of beauty in ‘some’ is explored in the sculptures from this series when the animal characteristics sometimes surface (at Apparao Galleries).
