'Flying Dream' – oil on fibreglass by Paresh Maity. |
One of Bhaskaran's work on display. |
Till March 23: Haram Me, an ¬installation by Pravin Kannanur. This art installation confronts the viewer with multiple mirror images of itself in the form of paintings, reproductions of paintings as paintings, installa¬tion of text and image. The preocuupation of these works is not primarily aesthetic. The materials used are deliberately cheap and perishable. Haram Me comments on the condition of the artist as well as the conditions of art-making itself (at ¬Alliance Francaise).
Till March 30: Blind Poet and the Butterflies, an exhibition by C. Douglas (at Focus Art Gallery).
Till March 31: Thirty recent paintings by M. Senathipathi are on show as part of Art Chennai 2012. Senathipathi's works represent Indian Gods and imagery and greatly lean on Indian mythology. Deep-rooted in his native elements, he combines all of them with contemporary forms. His metal works are equally striking and have a strong resemblance to his paintings (at Dakshina¬Chitra).
