Till February 20: Natural Dye Exhibition organised by the Crafts Council of India. In a world saturated with synthetic colour, the CCI brings you a rich variety of natural dyed textiles, wood and fibre (at Abirami Chidambaram Community Hall, Kotturpuram, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.).

Till February 20: Exhibition of the work of Laxma Goud, who excels in handling a vast range of mediums like gouache, pastel, etching, water colour and glass painting, his language remaining the same in its rustic and raw feel (at Appa Rao Art Gallery).

Till February 21: Exhibition of mixed media drawings by Pierre Desfons (at Appa Rao Gallery).

Till February 27: Back to the Past‑3, an exhibition of paintings (based on mythology, legend and literature) by A.V. Dhanushkodi (at Gallery Sri Parvati).

Till February 28: Exhibition of mixed media drawings by Pierre Desfons (at Alliance Francaise).

Till February 28: Werner Herzog – Film muss physisch sein (Film must be physical).This exhibition put together on the occasion of the 60th birthday of Werner Herzog, one of Germany’s greatest and most controversial film directors, shows photos capturing the director at work during various films shoots. Most of the photos were taken by Beat Presser, the set photographer for three of his films. (at Max Mueller Bhavan).

February 21: Skrat, formed in July 2006 with only one aim – to play music appealing to both the audience and to themselves. They will play music that traver­ses from the 1960s to date, with some of their own scintillating compositions (at Alliance Fran­caise).

February 28: Masala Dosa, electro jazz world music concert with Pierre-Jean Duffour (Indian sitar), Brice Duffour (bass), and Frank Lemoine (drums) (at Taj Coromandel, 7.30 p.m.).

February 28: The Madras Terrace House has recently launched its book reading club. This small gathering meets regularly on the last Saturday of every month to share their experiences with various books. They also discuss authors, stories and new books in the market. The club also has a fine collection of books which the members share amongst themselves (at The ­Madras ­Terrace House, 6.00 p.m. Tel: 4503 8391).

March 1: Procession and ritual to immerse Durga in the Bay of Bengal and also to erase the Kalam of Bhagavathi, ending Devi exhibition and activities (at Dakshina­Chitra).
