'Owzzat...again?

"All this is so confusing, man, in the World Cup 'We' were 'Us'...now in IPL, I'm 'Us' and you are 'Them'. What do we do?!

Very confusing.

First, ‘They’ were all in blue, and ‘They’ were all a ‘We’.

And we...the Big ‘We’, that is....the sub-continent ‘Us’......were all for one and one for all.

And very nice too – considering the way it all ended.

Even Un-sports got swept up in the excitement, getting all emotional, even quarrelsome, at times – but then intense stress does that.

Especially when you get yelled at for moving to another chair.

Now, you were merely getting your circulation back on track but, apparently, you inadvertently sent a message to The Fates to send He-Who-Should-Never-Get-Out back to the pavilion.

Did you know you and that chair had the power to influence Destiny?

Then, suddenly, the world shifted.

Within days, many of the faces who were the ‘Them’ (with all of you cheering loudly whenever they goofed up – or, to use a delightful local term, ‘Sodhappu-fied’ – in your favour)are now suddenly the new ‘We’.

Which makes yesterday’s rivals today’s team-mates, and gets former same-siders glared at.

Just shows how fleeting everything is, doesn’t it?

Today’s friend; tomorrow’s rival... so it goes.

Hey...there’s a life lesson right there.

It’s true then – Teachers can materialise anywhere...and sometimes they stride out of pavilions.

'Owzzat, indeed.
