Weekends, Till June 13: The Madras Crocodile Bank Trust (MCBT) is putting together day and night camps for two days and one night for children between the ages of 10 and 14. The camps will be held every Friday-Saturday till 13th June.

So what is Croc Bank putting together? Learn all about crocodiles, turtles, tortoises and snakes through interactive sessions conducted by experts at the Croc Bank. Find out about fruit bats. Follow a Nature trail with the Irula tribesfolk. And much more.

May 18-31: Give a Dog a Bad Name and Hang Him, a photography exhibition by Francoise Berot. In all religions, mythologies and beliefs the dog is revered as much as it is despised. Its duality makes it an extremely rich character that embodies the ambivalence. (At Alliance Francaise.)

May 22: Maarten Visser Trio, Maarten Visser (saxophones/composition), Keith Peters (bass guitar) and Jeoraj George (drums). An evening of foot tapping music. (At the Marriott Courtyard, 7.30 p.m.)

May 23: Bands of Chennai. Blind Image, Public Issue, TWKC, Amour of God, Blood Covenant etc. put up a concert to pay homage to their co-artistes who are no more, and to spread awareness on the dangers of alcohol and drugs and their link with fatal accidents. A short documentary too on the same theme. (At Alliance Francaise, 7.30 p.m.)

May 23-24: Learning many crafts at one go. Parents and children can participate at the same time (different instructors). Participants can choose four craft workshops from ten different options to be completed in two days. Each workshop is for duration of 3 hours (2 per day with a break for lunch). May 23 : T-shirt printing (stencils), Pattachitra , Block Printing, Tye and Dye, Macramé, Clay Modelling, Wheel Pottery, Handmade Paper making, Bhandini, Card Modelling. May 24: Palam leaf Ganesha, Anklet wooden beads, Handmade Paper products,Silk thread jewellery, Theatre/body movements, Table Mat weaving, Batik, Soap Stone carving, Basketry, Swaram-music (at DakshinaChitra, Contact 2446 2435).

May 29 : Osher Moosica. A concert by Allwyn (percussions), Prassana (drum), Layonal (bass), Shyam (keyboard), Keba (guitars), Joe Raj (drum), Jithen (violin). Osher Moosica in Hebrew means Music Creates Happiness. (At Alliance Franicase, 7.00 p.m.)
