Wandering around the vicinity of the Tower of London recently, your deputy editor was reminded about how the moat there presents a marked contrast to the moat around Fort St George. Both are dry but what makes them stand apart is the sparkling cleanliness of the former and the general picture of decay and disuse presented by the latter. At the very least, from a hygiene and safety point of view, the authorities (whoever among the five owners of FSG that the moat falls under) must do something about it. And it is not rocket science. All it requires in periodic upkeep. Our London pic is by your Deputy Editor while the FSG moat is by Dr. Vijay Sriram.
