Kolam Enthusiasts is a community dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditional art of kolam through learning, innovation, and cultural initiatives. As part of the upcoming Madras Day celebrations, the community has created a special Madras-themed kolam that pays tribute to Chennai’s rich heritage, culture, and identity. Its Founder and Mentor Vins Raj, tells Madras Musings that “through this artwork, we hope to celebrate the city’s traditions while showcasing how kolam continues to be a living cultural art form. Here are some photographs of the kolam. We believe this initiative will inspire readers to appreciate and preserve one of Tamil Nadu’s most cherished traditional art forms.”
